McKinnie / Hessen Cassel Drainage Improvements

Page last updated March 19, 2025

Project Overview

The McKinnie & Hessen Cassel drainage improvements will include providing a drainage system on the south side of McKinnie Avenue between Hessen Cassel Road and Wayne Trace to help combat stormwater flooding on residential properties.

Storm castings such as swales and inlets were placed in areas that helped best address ponding and flooding.

New storm drains were placed near each resident’s front yard, and were connected to a concrete storm pipe placed along McKinnie Avenue. These new stormwater structures will help alleviate flooding and provide proper drainage of storm water.

Construction and installation of drainage structures were completed in October 2024. Restoration of the affected landscape took place immediately after.
