Southgate Plaza Storm Sewer Improvements

Page last updated February 7, 2025

Project Information

This project is aimed at improving the drainage around Southgate Plaza follow, following recommendations of an in-depth study of the area in completed in 2022. This project will help drainage at the Calhoun Street & Petit Avenue intersection and reduce storm runoff that currently causes flooding in the Fairfield Terrace and Belmont neighborhood located west of the plaza.

A new storm sewer will be installed and an existing detention basin will be utilized in order to combat flooding in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Construction is expected to start in Winter 2025. Check back here for traffic alerts and project updates.
