Stellhorn Water Main Replacement – Hobson Rd to Maplecrest Rd

Page last updated April 21, 2025

Project Overview

Expected completion date: May 2025

City Utilities is replacing water main lines for residents along Stellhorn Road, between Hobson Road and Maplecrest Road. This project involves replacing over 2 miles of water main lines. The current cast iron water pipes will be replaced with high density polyethylene pipes.

This water main replacement project is necessary to reduce water main breaks and increase fire flow capabilities. This project is a component of Fort Wayne’s ongoing master plan to improve the city’s water delivery system and reduce disruption. The new water main lines will be flexible and durable, where as the current water main lines are thin and susceptible to corrosion.
