Waynedale Area Water Main

Page last updated March 19, 2025

Project Overview

Restoration for this project will be completed in Spring 2025.

Crews will install more than one mile of new water main in the following areas:

  • St. Mary’s River, Winchester Road Civic Association: Babcock Drive, Scotsdale Drive, Chepequah Lane, and Godrey Road.
  • Bluffton Road: From Old Trail Road to Interlaken Drove.
  • Lakewood Park Neighborhood: Homes in the 6300-6400 block of Maplewood Circle and Bluffton have new connections to the main in front of their homes instead of in their backyards.

The area has had over 30 water main breaks in the last 20 years. There are currently cast iron mains in place. These were standard pipes used in the mid-20th century, but with time they become susceptible to corrosion and breaks. The new water main pipes will be high density polyethylene pipes. They are flexible and durable. New hydrants and service taps will also be placed following the water main installation.

Project updates

Crews are working to install new water main pipes along Bluffton Road, in addition to restoring work sites including sidewalks and streets.
