Many groups in and around Fort Wayne organize events where volunteers can pick up trash, remove invasive species, help clear areas to improve views of the rivers, and participate in other activities to improve the quality of our rivers, lakes, and streams.

Annual Events

Great American Clean-Up

Fort Wayne’s Solid Waste Department is seeking volunteers to help with our annual Spring clean-up day.  Volunteers will clean up neighborhoods, roadways, vacant lots, trails, and riverbanks—then celebrate their work at an after-party at Headwaters Park. Free Drop-Off Day at Fort Wayne Biosolids Handling Facility

Fort Wayne and Allen County residents are invited to drop off yard waste including clippings, twigs and limbs, and leaves at the Biosolids Handling Facility at 6202 Lake Avenue. Check back for the next event date!
