Construction crews began lowering MamaJo through the working shaft on Dwenger Avenue. High winds and sub-zero temperatures delayed lowering Mamajo, because of the weight of the cutterhead – 200 tons. Finally, Mamajo was lowered down the 220-foot working shaft. Here are two videos of the lowering and a photo below.
