Become a Drain Stormer!
City Utilities invites residents to clean and mark their neighborhood storm drains to help protect our three rivers from unwanted pollutants.
Our city has over 23,000 storm drains that lead directly from our streets into our rivers untreated. This means any pollution washed down storm drains has a negative impact on our rivers and wildlife that in habit them. Clogged storm drains can cause street flooding when there are storms and build up debris in our neighborhoods. Clean Drains wants to remind citizens of one message: Only Rain in the Drain!
Storm drains are the gateways to our creeks, streams, and rivers. When it rains, the storm drains carry trash, debris and other waste into our rivers, polluting them.
