Oxford – Census Tract 28 Water Main & Lead Line Replacement

Update:

9/28/26: Crews have completed all water services. They are now focusing on asphalt restoration in the east half of the neighborhood, including sidewalk restoration and hydrant removal.

Project Overview

This project is in U.S.  Census Tract 28, including much of the Oxford Neighborhood. The improvements are in the area bound by Hanna Street on the East, Anthony on the West, Pontiac on the North, and Oxford on the South.

City Utilities has replaced more than six miles of cast iron water main pipes with new, high density polyethylene pipes. Restoration is taking place now, including repairs to asphalt, concrete and grass patches that may have been disturbed during construction.  

Lead Service Replacement

While construction crews were replacing water main pipe, lead service replacements were also happening as well for FREE, opting into a program with contractors which allowed them to replace both water main and lead service line.
