City Utilities will be replacing more than six miles of cast iron water main pipes with new, high density polyethylene pipes. Following the replacement of the existing water pipes, restoration will take place including repairs to asphalt, concrete and grass patches that may have been disturbed during construction. This project will include lane closures and restrictions so be sure to pay attention to signage in construction areas. Check this project page for more updates on traffic patterns and parking restrictions. Additionally, road closure information can be found at TRECtheFort.org. This project is expected to be completed by Fall 2026.

Lead Service Replacement

While construction crews are replacing water main pipe, lead service replacements will also be happening as well. Homeowners in the area can opt-in to this program by letting contractors know. Opting-in to the program while the water main pipe is being replaced will allow for homeowners to replace lead lines at a lower cost. If done after construction, prices may go up.
