Page last updated May 18, 2026

UPDATE: As of May 18, barricades and cones have been picked up along W Jefferson Boulevard. Construction will now begin in the Westwood Fairway neighborhood.

  • At least one eastbound and one westbound lane will remain open at all times.
  • The inside lanes (closest to the center) on both sides of the road will be open to through traffic.
  • Where turn lanes exist, they will be used as work zones.
  • When a turn lane is used for construction, the adjacent travel lane will serve as the temporary turn lane.
  • Be sure to take extra time in the morning when travelling or plan for an alternate route.

Project Overview

The Westwood Fairway Water Main Replacement project will bring in more than 9,000 feet of new water main pipe. This area, specifically along W. Jefferson Boulevard, has had 15 water main breaks in the last 30 years. This project will also cover N Washington Road, at the intersections of Taylor Street and Ardmore Avenue.

The area currently has cast iron water mains in place. They will be replaced with high density polyethylene pipe which is flexible and durable. Property restoration will take place following the competition of the project.

Traffic:

This project will include lane closures or restrictions. Check back here for traffic updates and visit TrectheFort for more information.
